Our policy is to ban any postings from the Church of Scientology or any of its groups, such as "The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR)". (http://www.psychassault.org/cchr.html).
To quote from "The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR)": "The Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) was established in 1969 by the Church of Scientology to investigate and expose psychiatric violations of human rights, and to clean up the field of mental healing."
In the past 36 years, the Church of Scientology has been attacking psychologists and psychiatrists. Historically, this feud started when the American Psychiatric Association got a bill passed in the U.S. Congress stripping the Church of Scientology of their tax-exempt status, arguing that they were not truly a "church" but an organization falsely claiming church tax-exempt status. After that, the fight was on.
First the Church of Scientology attacked psychiatrists for their prescribing Ritalin (methylphenidate). When that didn't work to discredit psychiatrists; they attacked psychiatrists for their prescribing Prozac (fluoxetine). When this didn't work; they tried to discredit psychiatrists with false allegations of wide-spread sexual abuse or killing of patients with antipsychotic medication.
Let's take a closer look at the lies that the Church of Scientology is spreading:
The Church of Scientology falsely claims that psychiatrists are responsible for Hitler's evil nature:
(Quoting Scientology): "Injured during World War I, Hitler was hypnotized by a psychiatrist who implanted in him the belief that his beloved Germany needed him to recover in order to serve the cause of a national resurrection."
The Church of Scientology falsely claims that psychiatric treatment causes people to become fascists, Neo-Nazis, assassins and zealots:
(Quoting Scientology): "A review of infamous fascists, Neo-Nazis, assassins and zealots reveals that many had previously undergone some form of psychiatric treatment, had studied psychiatric and psychological methods or were indoctrinated using those methods, before carrying out or ordering the execution of their murderous acts."
The Church of Scientology falsely claims that psychiatry is used to control whole populations to march them to war:
(Quoting Scientology): "In fact, the marriage between authoritarian government and psychiatry is as old as psychiatry itself. In the 1800s, Germany's militaristic "Iron Chancellor," Otto von Bismarck, utilized psychiatry to influence and control whole populations in order to fulfill his dreams of conquest through war."
(Quoting Scientology): "Psychiatrists learned very early on that neuroleptics cause Parkinsonian and encephalitis lethargica symptoms. ... Neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a potential fatal toxic reaction ... was also a known outcome risk. An estimated 100,000 Americans have died from it."

The Church of Scientology falsely claims sexual abuse by psychiatrists is common:
(Quoting Scientology): "Between 10% to 25% of mental health practitioners admit to sexually abusing their patients."

Other Anti-Psychiatry Publications By Scientology:
There is practically no social ill that the Church of Scientology doesn't blame on psychiatry. Here is a list of just a few of Scientology's publications.
"Schizophrenia: Psychiatry's for Profit 'Disease'"
"The Brutal Reality: Harmful Psychiatric 'Treatments'"
"Harming Youth: Psychiatry Destroys Young Minds"
These hate-filled propaganda publications by the Church of Scientology are part of a 36-year-long, well-orchestrated, million dollar campaign to discredit psychiatry.
I can't speak on behalf of all mental health professionals, but I can speak as a private citizen. I believe the Church of Scientology is waging a war of lies and slander against all mental health professionals. I also believe that the Church of Scientology is a very dangerous organization (http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Secrets/).
We welcome having our members debate any mental health topic, but it will be our policy not to let members quote the lies spread by the Church of Scientology (or any group started by the Church of Scientology).
